Time Off The Screens

The use of phones has been both good and terrible at the same time. It is something one will call the two sides of the coin. Yes, using phones is very important for communication and also for working and learning as well, but it is okay to say that using phones has also destroyed communication. These days you will go out with a friend and then during the time you spend together both of you are on your phones. At the end of the meeting, you claim to have fun and would love to see again.

This is a barrier as most times we forget that there is a bond and there is communication outside the use of phones. If there is one thing I do when I am meeting up with a friend is the fact that I keep my phone aside and have proper communication with you. Talk about different things and have a separate bond.

If I am asked the question “During family time should there be a banning of phones?” Then my answer will be YES. Most relationships have ended because both parties do not know themselves but then they spend lots of time together. These days people rarely appreciate family time because everyone claims to be busy and then when there is a get-together, you will see most people on their phones instead of interacting.

When I was little, there was a tradition my grandma would always carry out. It is a family tradition, where we will all come together, spend time together, pray, and even eat together. I always look forward to that time of the year. During that time people weren’t as addicted to their phones as now. You will see everyone hold discussions for a long time. Well, it isn’t so this time as we can’t hold a conversation for a long time without bringing out our phones.

There is a reason why it is called family time or get-together, it is a time when we spend with our loved ones and not on our phones. I think banning phones during such times will make the bonding process better. Most people are shy and can’t communicate properly, so most times during this period they drown themselves in their phones, but if there is banning on phones, I am certain they will have no choice but to socialize even if it’s by saying a few words and also make memories without your phones.

Implementing this isn’t difficult as in my house whenever it is family time, my dad has made it compulsory that our phones should be put aside. This is what has made me decide that whenever I am meeting up with friends or even an acquaintance my phone should be put aside for proper bonding and communication and most times with your phone put aside it is a sign of regard for the next person.

So it is high time we put our phones aside and create memories and bonds.

If we give time to family. If we can give time to the children of our family. Then our next generation will develop very nicely. If you don't give time to your family and don't give time to your kids then your kids will neglect you more in future.

Sure, phones should be put aside, your dad and mine have this in common. That's the right thing to do.

I think my grandparents would turn in their graves with society now. Families ate together at meal times and talked! Not played with phones hehe

Since most families bounding time is once in a blue moon, doing away with mobile devices is necessary to connect well.

As should be. Why would I even want to hang out if we can't have quality conversations? It defeats the purpose. I also pick yes. Family time means being away from phones and other distractions.

Well done #dreemerforlife

I agree with phones down when socialising. I do have to keep my close to hand though because I am a mom of young children and need to be available if my kids need me. Good practices in your home, @beeeee :-)
