Elderberry and Newmoon, do you believe in Old Sayings?

If I counted correctly, this is already the 3rd post today in the german posters tag on the topic of elderberry. @nadinee and @charlissy have already posted their recipes for an elderberry syrup, you can find them here:

Well, "All good things come in threes" is a very old saying here
and so with this folk wisdom we already arrived in the middle of the topic superstition, because around the elder as well as around the today's June new moon entwine many old beliefs.
Nun denn, „Alle guten Dinge sind Drei“ sagt bei uns ein altes Sprichwort
und somit sind wir mit dieser Volksweisheit auch schon mitten im Thema Aberglauben angekommen, denn sowohl um den Holunder als auch um den heutigen Juni Neumond ranken sich viele alte Glaubenssätze.

After all, the new moon is at the beginning of the waxing moon phase, it stands for new beginnings, but also for wishes and manifestation rituals. Der Neumond steht ja am Beginn der zunehmenden Mondphase, er steht für Neubeginn, aber auch für Wünsche und Manifestationsrituale. Insbesondere der Juni Neumond für zwischenmenschliche Beziehungen und innere Weisheit. Es macht also Sinn sich (wenn doch im Außen alles Dunkel ist) auf die eigene innere Weisheit zu besinnen und von dort aus sich auf das zu fokussieren, was man will, denn dieses soll ja mit dem zunehmenden Mond dann ebenfalls zunehmen.

The only thing I know for sure on this subject is that I always feel very well near an elder bush, everything else is not provable, but that does not automatically mean that it is not true. I love these gnarled barks and the little stars that it develops as flowers, both together has something magical about it.
Genauso wurde der Holler seit ewigen Zeiten genutzt um ihm Wünsche darzubringen und damit den Lauf der Dinge zu verändern, neu zu gestalten.
Das einzige was ich mit Sicherheit weiß zu diesem Thema ist, dass ich mich immer sehr wohl fühle in der Nähe eines Holunderstrauches, alles andere ist nicht beweisbar, was ja aber nicht automatisch bedeutet, dass es nicht stimmt. Ich liebe diese knorrigen Rinden und die kleinen Sterne, die er als Blüten entwickelt, beides zusammen hat schon etwas magisches an sich.

What do you think about superstitions? Are they real old traditions or are they perhaps only constructs that work like a placebo, because so many people believe in them and in the end it is "only" the inner belief, the deep conviction, the unconsciously deeply consolidated belief set in us that "works" ?
Wie steht ihr zum Thema Aberglauben? Sind es wirkliche alte Überlieferungen oder sind es vielleicht nur Konstrukte, die wie ein Placebo wirken, weil eben so viele Menschen daran glauben und es am Ende „nur“ der innere Glaube, die tiefe Überzeugung, der unbewusst tief in uns gefestigte Glaubenssatz ist, der „wirkt“ ?
