Knowing there are tons of cameras is not at all a conspiracy thing. Everyone and then, just for "fun" I could how many I see while running errands and it's never in the single digits. And that's just cameras, that isn't thinking about the information gained from phones and smart watches. I for one refuse to use health apps for anything much due to not trusting what they would do with the information.
And when you look at governments which are full of bad actors it becomes even more of a problem. When you've got a major power with access to information it can use for ill or even individuals(example abusive folks who use access information to further their abuse) it is not okay, an there is no way to opt out of it aside from joining an strict amish or mennonite community and never leaving and even then there are tourists with phones.
I do however get great amusement from watching my cat, and he seems to feel the same. Here's one of him being a little spy by looking like he's asleep but he's got his eye open.
