In 1971, Grove Press of New York published Wild Children: The Book of the Dead, one of William S.'s best and most famous works. Burroughs himself warned the author that Western civilization was somewhat doomed. Once, after describing all the acts of absolute war committed by his characters, a journalist asked him the following question: "Can you imagine the events you want to happen just like those described in Wild Children?" The answer came out loud. "At least it is for me."

This group has survived over time by earning a living through prostitution or resorting to petty crime. They were pickpockets and did not hesitate to fight if necessary. Later some, like their leader Winnetou, joined Nazi groups or physically resisted. After leaving prison, they returned to Berlin and were divided into groups and divided into tribal areas according to territory.
