In case you don't know where the name of the song comes from: Mark Knopfler himself mentioned it a few years ago on Life on the Road, hosted by AC/DC singer Brian Johnson.

According to Songfacts.com, there is another musician who claims to have written the song. His name was Bill Wilson, he died in 1993 and claimed to have written the lyrics. The artist told anecdotes during his live performances, one of which was recorded on a 24-track CD produced by a production company that produced albums of this type between 1989 and 1995.
