The '90s were a time of abundance and success for Aerosmith, a group that went from being a niche band to a mainstream band with a great story behind it. So on June 20, 26 years after the release of the video for "Cryin'" starring Alicia Silverstone, we remember how the first video of this trilogy was considered "the best of all time" by many music channels. In addition to her life as an actress, she met the attractive women who later became the main characters of Clueless (1995).

Before that, Alicia appeared in three Aerosmith videos: "Cry," "Amazing," and "Crazy," the latter of which you may be more familiar with. The first of them aired on MTV in the summer of 1993, June 20 to be exact, and it was clear that Alicia was the new muse of rock and roll and the standard of rock videos in the band's history. Stephen....Tyler.

And why do I say this? Check out the beginning of the "Cryin'" clip, which features Steven's daughter Liv Tyler, Jason London and Stephen Dorff alongside Alicia. Initially, a tattooed man in a white sleeveless shirt is seen touching his chest at Silverstone. He then becomes a "loser" when he sees Liv kissing the boy like a good couple in love would. She then appears to be driving and it gets to the point where she lunges at the young man and after he rejects her, she simply hits him, throws him out of the car and leaves him there.

After the release of this clip, director Amy Heckerling wanted to cast Alicia in Clueless. In 1995, Amy told Rolling Stone: “I was minding my own business when I saw 'Cryin' on MTV. This made Alicia Silverstone an icon of the '90s. Because the release of the film gave her enough momentum and recognition to become a rock and pop culture icon.
