Larry Is Alive #083 I Am Alive Challenge

It is the second to the last saturday of the month and also two weeks to the end of June. The month is gradually coming to an end. How has your plans gone? For Larry the postman, he has been busy and steadily achieving his targets to deliver certain number of mails this June. He went about his duties today after a heavy downpour abated.

Meanwhile as Larry was waiting for the rain 🌧️☔ to subside, he decides to take a look at today in #history. And here we go:

Gentlemen, do you know that on this day in 1940, the Soviet Red Army invaded Latvia, which led to the inclusion of the country as part of the USSR.

Do you also know that on this day in 1944, Iceland declared itself (herself) a republic.

Moreso, on this day in 1987, American musician Kendrick Lamar, whose full name is Kendrick Lamar Duckworth was born in Compton, California, U.S.A

Furthermore, on this day in 2017, Helmut Kohl, the German politician who presided over the reunification of East Germany into West Germany in 1990 and became the first chancellor of a unified Germany since 1945, died at the age of 87.

Again, on this day in 1703, John Wesley, Anglican clergyman, evangelist, and co-founder of the Methodist movement in the Church of England alongside his brother Charles was born. Worthy is the Lamb!!!

Finally, On this day in 1994, O.J. Simpson was charged with the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, but he was acquitted the following year after a sensational trial.
