Happy New Year fellow Hivers !

It's the first day of the year, and the first Hive Power Up Day of 2024.

HPUD January 2024

I'm pleased to report that I've "done my duty" - I'd been saving up a bit of liquid HIVE just to start 2024 off with a bang, so I powered up 500 HP.

As for what I did then, well I immediately increased my delegations to @eds-vote and @leovoter by 100 each. EDS and LEO are two of my three favourite Hive Engine tokens (the third is Slothbuzz), and delegating to them not only gets me a return, it helps the projects develop which helps the Hive community overall.

The next thing I did was to convert 72 HIVE to HBD, which got me slightly over 26 HBD. One of my goals for 2024 is to put a lot more into HBD. Even if the HIVE price is low the interest helps offset that.

A great plan to help me do this is The 52 Weeks Savings Challenge - HBD Style by @elianaicgomes - it gives me the discipline I need to stick with it. I'm using the reverse method, so the plan is that each week I put HBD in but reduced by 0.5 each successive week; 26 on week 1, 25.5 on week 2, etc, down to 0.5 on week 52. The logic is that by starting off high it front-loads the interest gained, and because it's easier to predict HIVE prices and how much fiat I can afford to put in closer to the present I'm less likely to fail at a later stage if reality shifts.
