More SPS utility coming this week on Splinterlands

I have been sharing the updates about SPS in my previous articles that it is one of the tokens which is going to be valuable in the game. The more you stake will allow you to get multiple benefits down the line as well as with the new change you will be benefited a lot in terms of better rewards and the ability to play in the higher league. This was already announced a couple of months back that soon we are going to have a change in the game and they will remove the collection power. the collection power will be removed and replaced by the SPS holding in the game however not many details were provided at that time.

Today an update has been shared by the team and finally, it has been announced that we are going to have the change this week. It is a bigger change and I'm sure the community will pay attention to the upcoming change that we are going to have this week. It is good for those who are holding a good amount of SPS already but if you are not then probably it is the time when you need to plan things and grow the holding of your sps tokens as much as possible.

Collection Power Going away

Collection power was introduced to reward the players who are holding more valuable and high-level cards. This worked well because it is obvious that if someone has invested more in the game then the person deserves a higher reward as compared to someone who has invested less. Now the team has gone to the next level on the change and they are going to remove it completely from the game. They will replace it with the sps power which means your sps holding will determine how much reward you can earn in the game after the change implementation. They have also mentioned that now anyone can play in any league depending upon if they can score the required ranking. It means that there is nothing that can stop you to upgrade the league however your reward will be based on the number of sps holding.

SPS is the Key

After this change, one can play in any league and if the person is holding a good amount of spears then the reward is going to be significant. I like this change and plan things accordingly I also started accumulating more SPS in the last few months and hopefully, this is going to help me grab better rewards now. some multipliers are introduced with the change

There will no longer be anything preventing players from moving up to higher leagues and tiers if they can obtain a high enough rating. If a player can win matches and earn a high enough rating to get into a particular league or tier then they will be able to move up even if they have no cards in their collection at all, and no SPS staked.

Below is the snapshot for the calculation of the formula which you can refer to understand how many SPS are needed for some specific multiplier in different leagues. as I already mentioned that now anyone can play in the higher league but rewards will be restricted based on the SPS holding. it means if you can score a ranking of more than 3700 then you will be able to play in Champion League but if you are holding just about 25k sps then your multiplier will be 2x. this is the common scenario but if you increase the holding to almost 60k then this multiplier will be 4X. As per the previous mechanism I was able to play in diamond based on my collection power but since that is not the criteria anymore so I can play in any league and even if I choose to play in Gold 2 then I can go with 12X easily because I hold almost 115K sps in total.

More SPS accumulation

I was expecting that this change will be probably in August or September but now it is announced that July first week is the time when we are going to have it implemented. I was trying my best to accumulate as much as SPS I can but still there is a lot that I'm still not able to however I will continue to do this. if we go by the above table then holding more than 1.2 million SPS can give 12X reward on the champion one league.

I am going to follow the same strategy that I have been doing for many months and will try to accumulate as many SPS as I can at this low price. I don't think the current price will stay long because a lot of people would be buying the token from the market to be eligible for the increased multiplier and it is going to affect the reward which will be much better after the change.
