Make yourself useful in some way
I've been learning about and practicing "givers gain" which basically means focusing on helping others in as many ways as I can, including business referrals. After a while, people will reciprocate and refer you because of how YOU are useful. Like you said, it gets easier to meet more people and doors start opening.

Exactly this. The more you give out, the more you receive back. You are more useful to the world when you try and make yourself useful
