ENTRIES FOR AFRI-TUNES CHRISTMAS EVENT (WEEK 41)

🥳 We wish you all a Merry Christmas 🥳

Afri-tunes Christmas Event (Week 41) on Hive began on 16th of December and ran through December 22nd. We had twenty-three (23) amazing entries for this week.

Among these twenty-three entries, here are some selected entries displaying wonderful presentations of Christmas songs in different dialects:

CONTEST REWARDS FOR AFRI-TUNES CHRISTMAS EVENT

75 Hive + 1000 Ecency Points + 100 Music Tokens + 70 Leo Tokens + 25,000 Starbits + NFTmusic

BEST ENTRIES

Various criteria were used in determining the winner of this contest. Attention was paid to the use of contest tags, title, introduction, video & audio production, message in the write-up and citation of external materials, among others. Some entries were also eliminated on the basis of other technical issues like synchronisation. However, the judges tried to be objective enough in their recommendations.

3RD PLACE

A MEDLEY OF CHRISTMAS SONGS by @sleemfit wins the third place.

  • Sleemfit presents a medley of two Christmas songs in Yoruba language titled "Élu Àgogo" (Ring the bells of Christmas) and "Gbó Ohun" (Hear the sound of angels).
  • A wonderful guitar strumming with powerful vocals.
  • His video and audio production was good.
  • He leaves us with a wonderful message in his write-up.
  • Other external materials were properly cited.
  • He meticulously followed the guidelines of the event.

2ND PLACE

Eyin Amana by @jessicaossom wins the 2nd place.

  • Jessicaossom presents this beautiful Christmas song in Efik Language with an instrumental extracted via moises.ai as she cited.
  • She does her unique style of harmony which gave the entry a fuller and choral effect.
  • She also adds beauty to her entry with lots of smiles.
  • She leaves a wonderful message in her write-up.
  • She followed the guidelines and sourced external materials (noting the handwritten lyrics).

BEST ENTRY

UNTO US BY @JAYDR (JAYDEEDOC) AN ORIGINAL by @jaydr wins the best entry for the contest.

  • UNTO US is an original composition by the artist, @jaydr and it was produced by him as well.
  • The audio quality was good; it was mixed and mastered, placing the vocal and instruments at a balanced position.
  • His performance and delivery was wonderful.
  • The video editing on the piece was great.
  • In his write-up he tells us what Christmas means to him, the message of his song and other necessary descriptions about it.
  • External materials were also cited.
  • Other necessary guidelines were followed.

As we earlier said, we also plan to mint this audio as an NFT, and the cover image for the track has been created.

The process of minting the music will begin and we will update the community within the week.

25 copies will be minted
2 will be kept as Afri-tunes' property
3 will be given to the artist.

The rest 20 copies will be placed on sale at the Rising Star market place at different intervals for as low as:

  • 1.5 Hive
  • 1.2 Legend Tokens
  • 30,000 Starbits Tokens.

80% of the sales will be given to the author while the rest will cover (part) of the capital used for minting.

Your support will be highly appreciated.

This will usher us into Afri-tunes' huge plans for next year (2023), and it will be discussed during the week.

  • We appreciate everyone who continuously visit amazing creators and musicians on this platform, to drop words of encouragement and commendation.

  • The Engagement race was awesome, and we appreciate all our members, subscribers and lovers of African Music on Hive.

Various criteria were used to determine the winner including: how well you engaged with artists, the number of artist's entries visited, engagement within 24 hours window and consistency, among others. This helps us to determine the clear winners due to how hot and awesome the Engagement race is.
