lore-03.png

A carrion shade is a dark-winged bird that feeds off of the dead bodies of animals and people. They often flock to battlefields and dangerous parts of the wilderness where there are sure to be corpses. They travel in small groups and have no natural predators. Most people fear the carrion shades, though. For to see a group following you is to know your life is in danger. Tales whispered by the elder wise women claim that if you see a single carrion shade perched outside your home, then someone you love will die that night.

Stats Title-03-03.png

  • As you can see from the stats above. Carrion Shade doesn't get too many upgrades in terms of stats when compared between level 1 and level 10. The most increase in terms of stats is in Speed where he gets +2 when you upgrade his level to level 10.
  • In terms of abilities, it only gets the only ability when you upgrade it to level 3. But after that Carrion Shade doesn't get any additional abilities up to the max level.

image.pngSUMMONER, I choose Thaddius Brood because he is the best choice for this match, with a maximum limit of 15 MANA so we really need his debuff ability. Because the average Health of the Death Element monsters is not too big and the damage from the attacks is not too big. Moreover, I carry an average of 1 and 2 Mana monsters, including Carrion Shade included.
image.pngTANK/1st LINER, With limited MANA in this match, Crypt Beetle will share the role of TANK and also DECOY with Carrion Shade which protects our 2 damage dealers to avoid attacks at the beginning of the match.
image.pngBACKLINER 1, There's a big reason why I didn't put Carrion Shade last in line. Why? Because I saw the match history logs of opponents who never brought enemies with Snipe, Opportunity and Sneak abilities in their last few matches, so I confidently placed Carrion Shade in Backline 1 position between our TANK and damage dealer.
image.pngBACKLINER 2, Undead Badger I chose this time. Apart from having only 2 MANA, he also has a speed that can be said to be OK even though he only has 1 damage in each attack. She will also serve as the last bastion in this match protecting Silent Sha-vi as my Main Damage Dealer..
image.pngBACKLINER 3, By taking 5 of the 15 rations of MANA in this match, I think he really deserves to be used in this match. In addition to having 5 Health, Speed & Damage from his attack is also very large compared to the same MANA as other Death Element monsters. I plotted him to be the main damage dealer in this match.

    STRATEGIES

From the beginning of matchmaking I was very sure the enemy would use the same deck as the previous matches, Earth-Magic.
Therefore I decided to use the Death Element Deck with Thaddius Brood as a Summoner who would give DeBuff magic attacks to the enemies.
For DEFENSE, I use 2 Tanks or Decoy which will protect our Damage Dealer from enemy attacks at the beginning of the match.
As for ATTACK, with Sneak ability for both of our damage dealers. I aim to finish off the enemy starting from their 2nd liner/backliner.

    THE BATTLE

    • The target in this first round is to give maximum damage to the last monster in their backliner. And luckily it was their Damage dealer.
    • 2 of our Damage Dealers with their Sneak abilities can deal maximum damage in this first round even though they actually lose in speed.
    • Crypt Beetle as TANK and the first fort finally couldn't hold out any further. He takes too much damage and causes him to leave the arena early.

    • After Crypt Beetle left the match, it was now Carrion Shade's turn to take his place in the 1st Liner. Luckily, even though he only has 2 Health--with the help of Thaddius Brood's DeBuff attack, he can still withstand 2 enemy attacks. And this moment is very crucial.
    • While Carrion Shade focuses on defending, our 2 damage dealers keep trying to attack the opposing monster in the last backliner. Luckily, this time there was also no miss attack so that in the end the enemy monster with the greatest damage could be destroyed.

    • In this round, the 1st Line position was replaced by Undead Badger, which I had already plotted from the beginning would be the last stronghold.
    • From the enemy side, they have lost their damage dealer and only have 2 monsters left with attack abilities, but one of them only has melee attacks and that too is placed in the backliner. A big advantage for our side.
    • From our attack side, Silent Sha-vi can kill enemy damagers easily in this round. Undead Badger can still do damage to his opponent and survive to enter the next round..

    • In the fourth round. The enemy can no longer put up a fight. Because the only monsters that can do damage to us are placed in the backliner position.
    • Silent Sha-vi and Undead Badger can finally knock down their respective opponents very easily.

    • By leaving only Chaos Agents in this round who have no attack abilities, he was easily killed by Undead Badgers and ended this fight.

    match review-03.png

    • My strategy is working very well, where at the beginning I said as much as possible minimize the incoming damage to the damage dealer.
    • Predictions about the opponent's deck and lineup were in accordance with what I predicted before the match started.
    • A bit of a surprise, when my opponent put Regal Peryton in the backline unprotected. So I can quickly finish him early in the match and make the next round relatively easy.

    MY THOUGHT ABOUT CARRION SHADE

    • For monsters with 1 MANA with attack ability, it is very useful. Especially when we have a match with a small MANA.
    • Carrion Shade reminds me of Furios Chicken. In addition to the character design, the function in the battle is the same. Even though Carrion Shade requires 1 MANA to be included in the lineup, he has the advantage of having the ability to attack from a level 1 card.
    • After several tries in battle, Carrion Shade's best position is in positions 2,3 and last. With the main function as bait to protect other monsters. He may not be a very good damager, but he is a very useful support.
    • However, it's less effective in moderate-mana battles, as there are plenty of other monster options with better stats.
    • The addition of less significant stats & abilities at each card level makes Carrion Shade a little useless to upgrade.
