The White Cat.

We have different choices towards having a pet since there are these diverse natures of animals all over the world. A pet to me might not be a pet to you. Our choices could be way different from each other.

I remember my dad telling us a lot of stories about his pet dog when he was younger, he told us about how much love he has for this dog. Gave it a nice name and well trained. He said this dog was used as a means of communication from his residence to the family house. And to get there, they have to cross over water. The dog would swim across the water to deliver the message.

Pets can be so lovely depending on how you treat them. I believe having a pet is something so nice. I was watching a YouTube clip on America's Got Talent. I saw a video of a guy who presented himself on stage with a pet dog. That was surprising. But when they started I was wowed by what the dog did.

He trained the dog to wake him up, take off his blanket, make him get his exercise done in the morning, and put on his clothes. That was so amazing. I knew it might take years for him to have that accomplished, but it's another proof to show how far and how lovely pets can be. I loved it.

Choices of having a pet could vary, pets could be dogs, cats, birds like parrots, doves, and some take goats, and sheep, as their pet. I feel it's all about the way we have them trained.

There is a man in our community who has a ram follow him all around whenever he walks the streets. If he sits the ram would sit beside him too. He also feeds the ram directly from his palms. I don't know what exactly had been done with the ram. But I believe there is this mutual attachment or connection between them which made it a pet to him.

I also like pets but I never had a particular choice of pets till I had an experience with one. My dislike for cats and dogs knows no bounds and I don't even want to have them closer to me in any way. But all of these changed with time.

There was a time when we were in school, in our hostel, and we saw a pure white cat out of nowhere, it was still so young and cute. Though I was scared to even touch it. We tried to get to the owner of the cat who took it as a pet. It was a lady from our neighborhood.

On the third day after returning this pet, we saw it again. This time around it already found its way into our apartment. I was about to send it away before a guy moved closer and carried it.

I can't even touch the cat. I got closer and tried to feel its furs for the first time in my life. So cats are not as crazy as I thought they were. And there is this traditional belief that cats bring about bad luck. So all were not close to the truth.

Since the cat didn’t return to its owner. She decided to let it be in our custody. The cat became a part of us. We gave it the name “White”. The funniest part is that those of us who got uncomfortable around it at first were the ones who played and got closer to it the most.

There are times when the cat gets on my bed and sleeps so close to me, using its tail to tickle my legs. When I eat it gets close and wags its tail, then I have to give it some of the food I am eating. The cat was so nice. I began to have this love for cats as pets.

We went on vacation and left the cat in the care of one of us who isn’t traveling. Then upon our return, we asked for the cat and it was no more. He said one day when he woke, he couldn’t find it around again. Everyone felt sad 😔.

If I could have another pet again. I wouldn’t mind getting a cat as my favorite pet.
