Last week @thatscooterguy (my son) and I visited Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast of Cancun here in Mexico.
We have visited many times now and are drawn to the turquoise sea, white sands and palm trees. Have you ever been there?
The ferry to Isla only takes 30 minutes from Cancun, which makes the crossing quick and enjoyable. In addition, you will get to experience a local musician performing their live music, which is always a blast!
Click here to watch the Mexican musician on our ferry crossing.
Many people that have been visiting Isla Mujeres for the last 20 years, comment how much busier it is now. However, for us it's still a tropical paradise and you can for sure still find quiet places, once you know where to look.
The different areas on the Island are referred to as South, North and Middle, and the distance from one end to the other is about 7 km, and is also the home to huge amounts of Iguanas.
One of the many blessings on this island is you can watch both gorgeous sunrises and breathtaking sunsets also.
And of course if you love to be upside down, there are some fabulous photo opportunities here too. π
I would really recommend a visit to this Island if you get the opportunity. And for more tips and advice, comment below.
I'm going to share another post about Isla soon. π
With love Lisa Marie β€οΈ

Hey @stdd thank you, yes I 100% recommend it. π
Ahhh, that looks fantastic! I love the beach, but I do mis the more tropical waters of Durban in South Africa. Here, in Bloubergstrand, Cape Town, the water is a bit too cold for me most of the time. Well, since my kids were born and raised here, they don't seem to have an issue with it at all, lol.

Hi @therneau yes I agree, we lived in Europe before and the Atlantic is cold even in the summer lol. You never get used to it TBH. But this Caribbean is so incredible.
Looks awesome out there!
Yes I would recommend on your vision board. βοΈ
Such a great time there with you :) β€οΈ
Yes the best!!!
Amazing photos! This looks like a really beautiful place! I've never been anywhere tropical besides Florida which doesn't really count. I hope to change that one day. These photos make me want to do it sooner rather than later! I found this post on Listnerds.
@bozz sorry I thought I had replied and doesn't look like it posted.
I'm sure you'll make it to a tropical paradise soon. π
Fabulous, I am fascinated by the crystal clear sea, it shows that it is a charming place. The name of the island is very curious, it would be fantastic to visit. I loved it.
I went there with @misslasvegas a while back, it's such a beautiful Island! Would love to go again soon :)
Sorry only just seen this, yes we love it there π
Very nice pictures,@lisamariesworld. Looks like a great getaway.
Hey @lisamgentile1961 yep it was such a great time we had there.
Love the clear water of Isla Mujeres Lisa. And hey, how is love to learn that standing upside down. But I think I can't make it in just a couple of attempts. Maybe a year of trying would do. π
@jonalyn2020 yes it does take a lot of practise, but definitely worth it. Headstands are easier than handstands. I was a gymnast, so learnt luckily, when I was a child. π
