Since I was teenager and I read Castaneda, I was an adept of changing something every day. Even small changes like using a different way to go to school/work every day will create ripples in your brain. Routine and doing the same thing every day, one after another, have something to do with the loss of adaptability and quick thinking. Doing the same you die a little. Changing things often challenges your brain and make you better, for longer.
This is actually even scientifically proven and I totally adhere to this principle. It seems that the more we do something, the more it becomes automatized in our subconscious brain. Meaning that the more routine we have, the more we are on autopilote and the less we are aware of things around us happening and time passing...
Exactly Achim!
