RE: Week through Adrian's Lenses (17 - 23 May 2025)

(edited)

Good on you to notice the link in Swarm. To Clarify, there are now 2 categories for retention:
a) Retention by activity
b) Retention by HP

The first qualifies if there has been an activity in the past 2 months.
The latter qualifies for an account that has more than 100 HP.

Super retained is an account that qualifies for both.

Now this data can also be construed in various ways, but there will be a post coming up that will tackle the complete analysis. For example: An Account which is qualified as Retention by activity is essentially an extractor account since they don't have even a 100 HP after a year and so on..

Also a correction: 2024 holds the data ONLY for the people onboarded in 2024 which is 63K, and 2025 holds the data ONLY for the people onboarded in 2025 which is around 25k.

The data has been taken from the chain, the only thing in work is the presentation and filtering aspect of it.

If you have any further questions let me know.

a) Retention by activity
qualifies if there has been an activity in the past 2 months.

That means the retention of the current year will always be higher than retention of the previous years, because it includes current activity of recently onboarded users. Maybe this stat should not take into consideration users onboarded in the last 30 days? Since they are new, we can't really talk about "retention" in their case yet.

Super retained is an account that qualifies for both.

Thanks for clarifying this. It was the thing most unclear to me from everything on the chart.

Thanks for all the explanations! Appreciate it!

The skewness of the recently onboarded users is necessary because what the newly onboarded person does with the account is critical. Sure, they will have an activity up, but are they buying HP? That is critical information.

Case in point: The chart does not show it yet, but it is extremely important to know whether the new user is just delegating, following a trail, interacting with the game, or making posts. It also gives us a good idea of what the onboarder does once they have onboarded a user. If we were to ignore the quality of early education for the onboarder, then we can identify that as a gap where said onboarder can improve.

Evidence-based criticism to the onboarders. That is the objective of this program.
