If you act like it is not a bigger issue for some places than others than it is a scam.
I like a lot of you guys.
But the Nigerian Prince scam was huge before the internet even existed. So like we cannot sit here and act like reality is not reality.
Maybe he was a little over the top but I would argue what he is trying to say is coming from a real place and it is a problem every western country has to deal with.

Well, I try to understand this but at some point it crosses the line with the statements and constant downvote actions. Yes, Nigeria is one of the top 10 countries in the world with high fraud rates but so is India and Venezuelans and some other countries. There have been two incidents on hive regarding money but i didn’t see anybody referencing the country of those individuals. It’s unfortunate especially for those that add value and maintain their reputation.
It’s almost the same things that annoys me with certain feminists that say all men are the same when they discuss rape and domestic violence.
I respect you so much @hurtlocker! But you need to see that this user has hatred on lock for people from my country and it so obvious. Even this user @nwothini335 is dv by him. I just had to say this because it’s too much.

Hello everyone I hope you are all good and well today in this post is some of the evidence to prove my case
If you didn't know I've been getting downvoted for a long time on Hive
They have been trying to bully me with downvotes and words but it doesn't affect me I've been online for over 25 years
So I've dealt with people like this before it's nothing new
But what they are doing is bad Very badi joined steemit like everyone else thinking it offers freedom but I must say steemit offered much more freedom than Hive does
Everyone already knows I only post my own original content I have no need to steal anything from anyone
I've been labelled a lot of things on Hive 😂 by the biggest farmers scammers and downvoters
Actions speak louder than any words do especially when them words are coming from a compolsive liars

I'm not arguing the fact that there are scammers in my country, Nigeria. Yes, there are lots of scammers. But the. Thing is, not everyone is a scammer. But generalising it, saying everyone is a scam is not calm, actually. It means that me too I'm a scammer. And if I was, I wouldn't even take a minute of my time to do this research. On the 7th of December, I was on night duty. Full ward (emergency unit). I didn't get any sleep. However, on the 8th, I came out from the hospital, and did these research. I came back by 2 or 3pm, and I had night duty that same day which resumed by 6pm.
Part of my Units Roaster. Cycled part shows my night duty.
If I don't have the interest of hive at heart, I would not suffer myself by depriving myself some sleep I needed. Thankfully, I could function well even though I had no sleep.
My point is, not everyone accepts illegalities. I don't and I will never. I try everything possible to kick against any atom of scams or related issues.
I have always been disgusted by the act of scamming coming from some of my country men. Trust me, there's no one that's as disgusted as I am. It boils my blood.
The western countries are actually not the only one affected. Even in Nigeria, people scam innocent and unsuspecting people. Just yesterday, I got a call saying that I should register for a grant. If I register with NGN45k I would receive NGN4M.

The first number proposed the deal, he posed as a Pastor. He said Michael is his name. He asked me call the second number above who is an elder in the church. They claim to be from Assemblies of God church. I called just for the fun of it, and that's where they now told me to bring 45k for 4m.
An unsuspecting person would be tempted by the amount of money they are to receive, but I immediately saw through. These are the things we Nigerians have to deal with on a daily basis.
I've been scammed thrice or so before in this country. The first one, the used charm (voodoo) and the second was a job scam. I sent them money to get a job. Third was from my junior colleague whom I trusted. I have had a gun pointed at the back of my head, and they requested for me to empty my pockets.
Irrespective of these things, I know and I have seen many good people here in my country who can never hurt a fly.
Nigeria has good people, however, the bad deeds of some bad people has overshadowed the goodness of many people.
