It is a bit of the good the bad and the ugly at this time it feels. You can monetize everything and indeed...even though when there are no other skills, things can still work out. The interesting thing is like you say yourself...
There is an audience...I call it guilty pleasure maybe? (fan of real housewives here admitting hahaha)
I've seen the ads about real housewives, I haven't seen it though but I think it'll be a good one. In general, I love reality TV especially the ones that are about regular life issues. They can be fun and educative and sometimes it adds extra interest because we know it's reality. The audience is there and then an opportunity for the creators to just monetize it .
Real housewives is far from reality though. The ladies really don't have a clue how normal people live anymore (or never had). Still good for popcorn though!
But I get what you mean...slow tv about real life....I like to watch stuff about farming as well if you talk about really slow
