Hive is a truly exceptional blockchain, and for a whole host of reasons, but there are two main issues which limit its growth (I wrote about this in a post recently) are one, we need a comprehensive onboarding and inboarding (after onboarding) process and education framework. The second limiting factor is the rampant abusive downvotes, which I've seen drive many really amazing people away, usually to Blurt (which supports everyone, especially newcomers, very well indeed). Unless those two issues are resolved, I don't see Hive reaching its full potential. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
I totally agree with both of your points. I also see them as major issues to make hive evolve. The onboarding would require easy account creation, basic education of how hive works and how to behave. Then we would need the hive police, not to downvote people but to educate them and give them tips how to do things better and how to correct their mistakes. Everybody who makes a mistake can learn and they will feel good when they are helped on the way.
Exactly on all points, and both of those issues are challenges in their own right. I've wanted to create some sort of comprehesive educational framework, like a Hive School, to get newcomers off to a good start. The trouble is that with the seemingly increasing abusive downvotes, many such newcomers, and even people that are actively educating and onboarding people and businesses in their local communities, become very disheartened and discouraged, and I don't blame them one bit. By the way, what I consider abusive downvotes are when people's posts are downvoted, or they're even added to downvote trails, with zero communication. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Down votes are not even in top 5 when people are asked why they leave. Blurt is a joke,
It doesn’t even publicly say what the token count or market cap is, it’s a joke.
8 outta 10 of daily users who left past 12 months mention fraud & abuse as main reason (DHF mostly) , why many stay away from even onboarding is projects like Leo giving our community a scammy reputation.
This data was based on replies from 3/1/25 - 11/30/25 , the DV issue makes list but it’s 7 outta 10 on average. DHF fraud & abuse & waste is top spot. The reward pool milking too. It’s described as a circle jerk of funding and no matter if 90% of users don’t vote for proposals they pass because 4 accounts control more HP then bottom 90% plus. I love Hive community, but we have scammy crap like Leo releasing obvious scam tokens that aren’t backed by anything and it’s going to end very. Wet badly eventually, but a large part of Hive puts upvotes from bots above decentralization and calling out scams.
Sorry to merge two totally separate issues, I’m sick and I’m with fever and halfway through typing I realized I needed a nap. I will give a better to point reply later, but bottom line there is so much waste & abuse that is main reason for many Leaving and for the smaller users , many support the Leo type projects that hubs off ultra stalls vibes that look like a joke to anyone looking in from outside.

I really appreciate you sharing all that, my friend. I've loved Hive since I first arrived, but I've definitely had a wake-up call over the last couple years, and it has some extremely significant problems and challenges. It seems close to some kind of breaking point. I've invested huge amounts of time over the past 4+ years, and a fair amount of fiat money and crypto assets as well, because I believed in this blockchain. I still do, but now the problems are glaring, so I just stay focused on building and growing my own account, the We Are Alive Tribe, and assisting and helping others as much as I'm able. The whales run the show, so it's my intention to grow a whole community of whales, to shift the balance of power on Hive at some point. I'm all-in for the long haul, and I always have been, so if our Hive ship sinks, I'm going down with it. Thank you again, I appreciate you. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
