My luck I would go to comic-con event and leave with nothing but missing my $1000. I'm with you I wouldn't ever go way too much out of my budget. Though the Spiderman Lego is pretty cool. It would be even cooler to get a black suited one if one exist.

They made a black suit one for Comic-Con one year, he's worth more than $1500 these days. Another Comic-Con deal. The event has just gotten so expensive that only true die hard fans will pony up that kind of money. Even if it were in my current budget I wouldn't pay that much! Used LEGOs are a huge market, and people are willing to pay. Plus it's a very low stress hobby which is a plus!
