This reminds me of a concept I heard and took to heart a few years ago. Bring value to the marketplace and you'll be rewarded irrespective of the circumstances you find yourself in. I think this is at least one of the aspects that's within our control, and increasing our value in the marketplace isn't that hard nowadays when they're free or very cheap courses out there for almost every skill.
