One of my landlords of my past had a large garden of Lavender that the neighbors literally called her home thte Lavender House. The Landlord was an English woman and she was absolutely fond of those fragrant purple blooms.
My late Roommate loved purple but never calls it purple but always a shade name like; Violet, Lavender, Fuchsia, Periwinkle, Magenta, Mauve etc. I've planted a variety of flowers around my home in her memory since.
