Believe me when I have adopted my mother's work-a-holic trait then added rationalizing Financial pressure as equivalent to personal insecurity. I have a full time job as a nurse but I did side gigs, accepted working holidays and too often volunteered to do overtime when the opportunity came. I was forced to retire early due to poor health. More important was that the extra work took time from my kids. Looking back it wasn't really worth it. I am trying to make up time with my kids now.
