You wouldn't believe it, but this exact topic has been on my mind for the past two days, though I hadn't been able to write about it. Every day, I see so many people buying just two kilograms of flour, only to return the very next day for more.
Why? Why don't they buy enough for at least a week, or even just two or three days, all at once? It is the cost of living...
A laborer takes home 1,200 or 1,500 rupees after a full day's work (or returns empty-handed if there is no work). Now, with that money, should he provide for his entire family or look after his own needs? Naturally, he chooses to provide for his family.
Does the country's elite lack anything? Not at all. They can consume whatever they please and throw away the rest; but who is there to think about the poor? Only other poor people, or someone who truly understands the pain of poverty and hunger.
