RE: The Person-Oriented Paradigm: Developing a Helping Relationship

Biblical counseling has three essential foundations-compassion, respect, and sincerity. To be a Christ-like, Wonderful Counselor, the counselor must be compassionate by stepping into the other's shoes and treating them like a family member. The counselor is respectful if they truly listen to the other person and always give a positive solver body language and guard confidentiality. This person is sincere when they admit their own brokenness, and also they hold God's word as the highest authority. When all these things come together, the other person is put into a relationship of trust in which God can make a real change.
