RE: The Long Game

I am bummed that in our state that had in our constitution income tax as illegal the Democrats forced a new "millionaire income tax" without a public vote first, then when Republicans pushed through the people's initiative to the ballot it has failed. So I was disappointed twice first by the party I support then by the clueless voters...

This new 10% tax is basically a precedent. Inflation would soon make all of us eligible to be taxed and people just don't get it...

That sucks. Michigan is dealing with a proposal right now that has some interesting ramifications too. It was intended for corporations not to be able to donate to political candidates, but now these stupid watchdog groups and the utilities are taking it to court claiming it violates the 1st amendment. After the voters already voted for it. I say if you are going to question the legality of something you should have to do it before the vote not after the public has already spoken. I am sure it's a lot more complicated than that though.
