I think that connects with the deeper problem I was trying to highlight. When society makes a government job the only respectable path, young people can spend years chasing something that may never come, and the repeated disappointment can destroy their hope. The real solution is to give our youth more paths to earn with dignity, instead of making one system their only dream.
