RE: The Best Laid Plans...

Little did I know, if you update the BIOS on a computer that has BitLocker enabled, it is going to ask for the recovery key.

Also little did I know, he hadn't backed up the recovery key anywhere.

Ouch, that hurts to read. I'm glad I started using a synchronized password manager for everything, so I wouldn't lose recovery keys.

But hasn't there been news recently that BitLocker is backdoored? I mean that's no news of importance to any of us normal folks for data recovery, but it shows how useless BitLocker may be.

I would recommend to anyone who cares about privacy and has some stuff not everybody is supposed to read, to use an encrypted Linux system. 🐧

PS: I'm trying with this comment to have a nicer looking layout. The HTML for the box is what ChatGPT gave me. I'm not sure why it's inside a box nor how it really works... If anyone can help out, explaining how I can format a specific paragraph to be displayed next to a specific image, help would be appreciated!

Clearly I don't know too much about BitLocker, at least not what I realized I did!
