There is no better way to say it.
Being independent as a woman has lots of advantages over the disadvantages.
It cannot not be overemphasised.
Imagine if your Mum wasn't equipped to assist . It would have been an fatal error for the family.

I don't see any disadvantage in it except that some women allow it get into their head. It is very important for women to be independent.
