Most of the time, I usually set my alarm to wake me up by 5am, sometimes even 6am depending on my mood, and even when I wake up. I already feel so tired because sometimes I will have to go out so early to catch the bus to avoid getting late to my destination. Sometimes, I respond to my daily task messages, and as soon as I am done and I check around, I feel like I have not done much.
Staying busy and telling everyone that you are busy can look like you are doing something meaningful, especially when there are bills you have to cover, and I also expect to see changes. But being busy can make me feel stuck sometimes, and I am sure some people can also testify to this.
A lot of times, we tell ourselves or others that we are busy, but are we really making any progress, or are we just stuck?
We wake up so early to go to work, show up for one or two meetings, do some side gigs, and come here on Hive to make a post. Yet we put the important questions on whether we are making progress aside.
I know that in my country, the rate of survival is hard because we literally need to work hard to cover our bills and expenses, and yet we have just a little time to take a break.

But in my opinion, I do not think that if we take a pause and reflect on what we are doing, it is bad or can be counted as laziness, it is just taking the proper measure of being accountable. It is deciding to work with a vision and purpose. We cannot just be working without setting a goal because if we do that, there might not be any growth. I mean setting goals that are meaningful so that each and every minute of our days can be meaningful.
From my experience, I have discovered that every day is always filled with one activity or the other. But those activities might not match and flow with our intention and purpose, which will slow us down, and we might see ourselves running on the spot.
And to be honest here, everything changes if only we can be true to ourselves and if we ask some detailed questions about whether what I am doing is giving me comfort, fear, or just a daily routine?
Because growth might not be something that is visible at once, but it will eventually be if we are patient, determined, courageous, and have deep faith that the little difference today will turn into something bigger tomorrow for me and for you. And that is why our daily direction matters more than our daily speed. Not how, when, but how far.
