There are around 40 or so species and varieties of tropical clumping bamboos all over the property, many of them producing quite good-quality poles for the construction of all sorts of things, and they are heavily used here. There are no endemic or indigenous bamboos here, but rather species from many places on the world, especially South-East Asia and South America. We use them for ridge poles for roofs, to make beds, ladders, door handles, flooring, among an array of other items.
