With all the hype surrounding the Chaos Legion, the demand for the vouchers definitely outweighs the supply. It is after all coming this Monday! The thing is, we all want a piece of that presale voucher pie, but we can't all be like Yui. (I made a meme lol)
So how do we prepare to buy those vouchers? How much will it cost? Read on and if you have comments, feel free to comment below! But before we begin, here's a reminder from the presale info.
Presale Timing
The Chaos Legion presale is currently scheduled to begin on Monday, October 18th, 2021. VOUCHER tokens will be given out daily starting on that day through Wednesday, November 17th, 2021 (30 days in total), and then the Chaos Legion presale packs will still be available to purchase for an additional week until Wednesday, November 24th, 2021 to allow players time to acquire or sell the final VOUCHER tokens given out.
You got all that? Let's begin!
You can choose either Hive Engine, Tribaldex, or Leo DEX.
Let's talk about each one briefly.
Hive Engine
The Hive Engine is one of the first ones I used when I first started. It was most similar to the Hive network so I was under the impression that it was the best one. As I learned more about Hive, I realized that there were other exchanges that work as well.
Pros: User Interface is very neat and organized. It's very easy to understand. Transactions have yet to fail.
Cons: It doesn't have a loading sign. so the user tends to wonder if they already clicked what they wanted to click. It gives the impression that the pages load a lot slower, even if there is no real difference during a side by side comparison of loading time.
Tribaldex
I learned about Tribaldex when I was researching about Liquidity Pools. Out of the 3 available exchanges, this is the only one that offers it, so when I plan to increase my SPS airdrop, I plan to use the SPS DEC Liquidity pool.
Pros: It has a nice dark mode option. The User Interface is also easy to use. Has a loading option to know your action is being processed. Has Liquidity Pools.
Cons: There's a lot of things on the exchange. It can seem complicated for first time users but it's actually very easy to use. To add a wallet, you'd need existing HIVE as a transaction fee.
Leo DEX
I learned about Leo DEX from Leofinance.io. I like using this when converting my HIVE to SWAP.HIVE, at least the theory behind it because they're usually out of SWAP.HIVE when I want to convert.
Pros: It has a nice dark mode option. Similar user experience with Tribaldex. It has the lowest deposit fee of only 0.25%. It has a tab button on the top to easily access your open orders.
Cons: It has problems with liquidity of SWAP.HIVE. This means that it's difficult to even avail of the 0.25% in fees. You can only deposit HIVE.
These are the 3 Hive exchanges that I have experience with. If you know any more, feel free to mention it in the comments below! But now, on to the next step!
You will need to get SWAP.HIVE to buy anything in the exchange. Think of it as the exchange's currency. To get your first SWAP.HIVE, I suggest you choose between these 2 methods:
Method 1: Converting Crypto Currency to SWAP.HIVE
Method 2: Exchanging DEC / SPS to SWAP.HIVE
Step 1: Go to your wallet and click Deposit
Step 2: Choose among the choices for the token you wish to deposit. There is a 1% fee on deposits and withdrawals, but Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain deposits have no fees, but will use the smart chain's gas.
Sidebar: This is how it will look like for 1% fees via non Ethereum and BSC deposits.
Now for our example, let's try BNB.
The deposit process is very similar to Hive Engine.
Step 1: Go to your wallet and click Deposit.
Step 2: Choose among the choices for the token you wish to deposit. There is a 1% fee on deposits and withdrawals, but Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain deposits have no fees, but will use the smart chain's gas.
Step 3: After choosing a token, you have to manually add the wallet. Let's say you used BNB.
The problem here is if you do not have any existing HIVE, the process can't push through. You need 0.001 HIVE (next to nothing really, but the transaction fails without any HIVE.)
Step 4: You will receive SWAP.BNB. Head on over to the Exchange and type in SWAP.BNB on the drop down menu. This is where you to sell SWAP.BNB to get HIVE. You can choose the highest bid and put in the amount of SWAP.BNB you want. Click sell and you're done! You now have SWAP.HIVE.
This is only for those with HIVE in their wallet.
So I tried swapping as it gives the best rate but I got this problem. Future balance states 0.000 HIVE. What happens now?
You have to check if Leo DEX ran out of SWAP.HIVE here. Click on Hive Engine and look at SWAP.HIVE to see if you have enough for swapping. I usually can't get any SWAP.HIVE so I tend to use Hive Engine or Tribaldex.
For this method, I find it is easiest to just use Hive Engine to deposit your Crypto Tokens. It's simple and straightforward, but if you like the user interface of the other exchanges, you can do your transactions there.
This method is the easiest for those who don't plan to add more money, but use what they've farmed from Splinterlands.
For DEC, click on your DEC on top and you will be brought to this menu. Select HIVE ENGINE WALLET on the drop down menu, and indicated how much you want to transfer out. This will be placed on your hive wallet, which you will see when you go to one of the exchanges.
For SPS, head to SPS Management by click on your SPS on top and you will be brought to this menu.
It will be in your wallet, and similar to method 1, Look for it in the exchange/market and sell it for some SWAP.HIVE. Now we're ready to buy vouchers.
Search for Vouchers on the Market. You will see that there are no trades yet. There are also no sell orders currently shown, because no one has any vouchers to sell.
If we look at the buy orders, there is someone willing to pay as much as 20 USD for 1 voucher, while there are a lot looking to buy it for around 9 USD. As the Chaos Legion vouchers start to drop, the price will change depending on the demand. My guess is that this will create a seller's market where they can dictate whatever price they deem is fair, and the buyer's will just have to buy it from the sellers for whatever price if they really want those presale packs.
Now that you know how to buy those vouchers, the next step is how to transfer it back to the game. There will probably be a button for it to make things easier in game. In any case, Congratulations! The next step is to prepare the funds because those vouchers will definitely not be cheap. Everyone wants a piece of those airdrop and promo cards, so be prepared to fight for it!
PS. If you're still deciding how many packs to buy and how you should buy it, check out my article on it 2 weeks ago.

yep, another market maneuver made by the devs to increase the value of all the correlated Splinterlamnds tokens. Bad enough that it's 50 bucks for an Untamed pack and the ridiculous prices of things. Glad I have been in since day 1.
I really wished I knew about splinterlands since day 1, but no time like the present to invest in such an awesome game. The different game modes that they plan to introduce like the modern format will make CL packs also valuable. Maybe one day they miught even be valued at 50 USD too.
Great article! Thank you!
Does anyone know how to transfer vouchers into the game?
