A New Day, A New Week, A New Year and the Sloth is enjoying the buzz!

Good afternoon, buzzers, it's another positive sloth day! I'm really feeling the buzz this afternoon. Sloth steps, but things are looking up!

It's the first 'real' week of 2026! How time flies when you're slothly dragging yourself along the ground, or having fun, as the saying may be! I need to get back into the habit of creating content and posting my wordy monologues. Heck, you might not enjoy reading them, but I have a great time writing them!

I actually got really excited about 5 minutes ago! There's a clue as to why in the main image for this post! The 'new' slothbuzz site is starting to come together. More so than yesterday, it's hard to believe a sloth could be so quick! There's now a 'create post' button!

Time to cause sloth havoc on Hive? Well, not yet, as I type this, that button is currently throwing an error, the joys of 'dev builds'. However, just seeing it made me a little joyful!

Obviously, as I couldn't post via the site yet, I jumped onto 'Hangs' and chatted to myself for a bit! I should probably jump onto Discord and Telegram and do the same in both the slothbuzz communities there too! For the 'Hive' side of things, I'm attempting to reply to more users and be more engaging. As always, that seems to be my downfall. I do a quick sweep, then give up! Sometimes, things are too 'slow' on Hive, even for a sloth!

Ok, now, a little side quest:

I LOVE 'SlothBuzz'— the concept, the name, the brand. Personally, I couldn't be any happier with it. But, if we really want to make a 'Hive' front end, one that can compete (or better yet) cooperate with Ecency or Peakd to truly take Hive forward. Should we consider incorporating a 'new name/brand' for the main site and mobile app? The Slothbuzz community would continue, along with the token, etc. But it may be worth rebranding the main concept? Something to consider...I have a couple of ideas, but would love to hear your thoughts. What should 'THE' Hive frontend be called?

Something about Bees? Buzzing? Hexigons? Hives? What about 'The Hive' or 'Buzzbox'...

Meh, more thinking required! That wasn't the aim of this post, but I did say I wanted to get back into the slothly way of writing, and that's filled with ADHD madness (and hopefully fun!)

TL:DR: What should 'THE' Hive frontend be called?

As exciting as things are with Sloth.Buzz, I find myself in the usual predicament, focus on building 'My' Hive account, slothlydoesit, or the community/main account for Slothbuzz? Should I spend more time making content for the community, or focus on myself?

Now, the obvious choice is me! I love me! You guys suck!

No, no, I joke! I love the community, but it can be hard to find a focus there; it's much easier to write about myself, especially in this style, which I enjoy so much. I mean, I've done some slothbuzz talking, now I'm going to jump onto my saving plans for the year and #saturdaysavers (I feel like it was a beneficial process for last year, if nothing else, it gives me an easy weekly post to write!).

I'm also thinking of adding some music to this post, new year, new money and my 'Discover Weekly' is playing in the background. Luckily, or unluckily, I haven't had anything pique my attention yet. There's always a couple of sing-along classics, but nothing 'new' has grabbed me yet; of course, the current song is now tickling my interest. It's:

Something tells me that's not a 'new' song, but it's 'new' to me, so new new? We're riding shotgun, with a devil, with a buckaroos!

Back on track! #Saturdaysavings / My Goals for Hive this year!

Honestly, not sure I want to set any 'big' goals. I think just making progress is key! Maybe I could do a posting goal? Or does that add unnecessary pressure... It's odd, well, not really if you read/watch any 'ADHD info'. Having a task that's 'urgent' doesn't really matter, unless it's 'mandatory'. If I pile pressure on myself to do a daily/weekly post etc it just gives me something to focus my procrastination efforts on. At the same time, if I have some accountability, I may be more inclined to do it. But then. Who's keeping me accountable?. Have you even read this far into the post?! This may be a 10,000-word banger at this rate, and who's got time for that! Most can't keep focus to watch some 'Shorts' these days!

My first thought is to continue with my 'power up' goals from last year's post. Aiming for top 1000 in HP holders on Hive. High Ho Silver!

Interestingly, if I were to convert my current HBD savings, I could almost reach my long-term goal today. Should I unstake my HBD and make the push towards the top 1000 in HP rank already? But what would my goal be next? Is it worth spending $500 in HBD to make the Hive? Something to think about, for now, I'm converting my $4 for another 40 Hive! Slow and steady wins the race, right? Maybe the 'guaranteed' interest on my savings is better than the potential HP boost for now?

Gets me thinking, what should my SaturdaySavers goals be (interestingly, the New Year of savers '26 hasn't been announced yet, I'm sure it's coming sometime soon! Maybe Saturday?). You can see a round up of last year's 'event' here Link

Maybe I aim for 750 HBD along with my 15,000 HP target. Both are a bit of a stretch with my current post/reward ratio, especially when my post/days ratio sucks! The answer is obvious, though, DO MORE!!! Simple really! 'Just Do it' as I like to pretend my motto is! When I remember!

$220 in HBD and 4,800 HP! I'd say those are pretty far 'out of reach', whilst crafting this post, but let's hope 2026 is a good one, and we can smash some more Hive goals! So, to recap, my main Hive goals this year will coincide with my SaturdaySavers efforts!
