This is my sporadic, but almost weekly, savings, investments, and growth report.

A short summary of the week:

• EDS goal reached, and a new goal set.
• Made good progress on HP goal
• Added new token to the Vault
• Trying out a sporadic HSBI raffle

Saturday Savers Club Goals 2024

My main goal for the Saturday Savers Club in 2024 is increasing my HP to 10,000 HP. The more HP I get, the more I can delegate to cool projects.

My secondary goal was to obtain 100 EDS tokens. This goal was met this week!

I’ve made good progress on my goal of increasing my HP. This is a mix of moving funds from other sources and selling off some P2E gaming assets, so moving forward in such a rate this week was easy. But later this year, when the moving of funds, selling of assets and so on is complete, that’s when the real hard work with the HP goal begins.

I met my goal of 100 EDS tokens. But the fun doesn’t stop there. This was just the first milestone. When it comes to EDS, the more that I can get, the better. No limit.

My new goal to reach for EDS in 2024 is 250 EDS tokens.

This week I’ve added a new token to save up on and hold long-term. It’s the SIM token from the dCity game. This investment might not be for everybody, but I’ve chosen this token due to several factors.

First, the ancillary reasons. The SIM token and the dCity game are OGs and have been around for a really long time. The game is often updated and well managed. I already hold the ARMERO token, which too is based on the dCity game, so for me who already has faith in this game and many of the people involved, from creator to top players, this feels right up my alley.

And the main reason. Dividends!

Or rather long-term holding rewards that pay out liquid HIVE daily. The SIM Holding Rewards work on a longer time frame, so rewards are not instant. To qualify for the rewards you need 8,000 SIM, and you need to hold this for 30 days for the full rewards to kick in.

Yesterday, I received 0.007 HIVE as a payout for holding around 31,000 SIM. But as you can see, I actually hold 250,000 SIM. This is due to the time lag, I have not held the full amount of 250,000 for 30 days yet, so I get a partial reward. This reward will then increase daily until I start receiving the full reward. Using just a quick not-so-accurate calculation, my full daily reward for holding 250,000 SIM should be around 0.056 HIVE daily (using the payout numbers from 13th of May).

This is a bit of a gamble, just as with ARMERO. But I have great faith in that dCity will continue to be relevant and well managed for a long time to come. As always, do your own research, though.

To my lesser holding and lower prioritized goals, I could not help myself so I’ve also picked up another 4 ARMERO tokens quite cheaply on the Hive Engine.

I’ve also added 2 BRO tokens even though I find them to be very overpriced compared to what they pay out.

I probably shouldn’t say overpriced. The BRO token has worked fantastically well for a long time, and paying a premium for a stable and well managed project is a good investment too. I’m generally looking for tokens with a mentality that they should have an intent to exist and thrive for as long as the Hive blockchain exists. It’s just that the dividends are quite low compared to the cost of the token. Currently, tokens such as DAB is cheaper and pays out really well, and is backed partly by the same people. But BRO is gold, holding BRO will most likely never be a bad idea.

This is just an experiment on my part. I’d like to give back to the great Hive community in some form, and HSBI shares are an amazing gift, at least according to myself.

This might become a regular weekly happening, or I might include a raffle every now and then. The SSC has an official sponsorship program, but currently I’m not always holding enough liquid HIVE to be at the ready to sponsor every week. I’ll probably request to join the sponsorship program later down the road, but as a start I might throw together a raffle every once in a while at my own pace.
