There is a saying that if someone doesn't like the parents, there is no way he will like the children. And to som extent we see these things materializing.

Now i am not a fan of inheriting anybody's problem. The thing is , if i notice my family is not in good terms with a person, i can't stop greeting the person, i wil, but the level of my relationship with the person will be very different. There will be s distance and i will trade with caution. Because some of them might still want to hurt you because they had issues with your parents.

My own is, greet them and go your way.
