Do you think people are becoming too invested in creating the notion of a perfect life due to what they see on social media, even when their reality is completely different? Asides social media, what else do you think drives people to maintain an image they cannot genuinely sustain?

Yes. Social media has influenced a lot of youth negatively, especially in pretending to be someone they are not. Everyone wants to be accepted and have that sense of belonging and they do this at all cost.

People on social media seems to applaud those who are doing or acting to be living a perfect life, so most youth try to fall into that category. However, aside social media peer pressure plays a role in making young people choose pretence over the truth. They believe only those who are living perfectly are accepted.
