Highly relevant governance analysis. Deploying idle treasury assets (WETH/USDC) into Katana liquidity pools to mitigate inflationary decay is a step in the right direction for basic capital efficiency, but it triggers critical risk-management questions.
From an analytical perspective, while reducing price slippage from 4.9% to 4.1% on a 10k RON swap improves network liquidity architecture, it exposes public treasury funds to Impermanent Loss (IL)—especially with RON hovering near its 3-month ATL at $0.054. If RON experiences a violent price divergence relative to WETH/USDC, the automated constant product market maker will systematically deplete the treasury's stronger assets to accumulate the weaker token. Keeping the LP tokens locked in the treasury is a necessary custody safeguard, but without an active hedging protocol or concentrated range parameters, the DAO might just be trading idle inflation for delta exposure and capital divergence. Turning back to Ethereum as an L2 was a smart move for security infrastructure, but the network needs real organic transaction velocity, not just incentivized treasury positioning, to spark genuine interest again. Great breakdown.
