Agreed.

However, I would make one small counter point. When I had to leave University because I was too broke to continue. I decided to take a full time sales job. I worked hard at it but something to realize...

... if I stayed there I never would have gotten ahead. If you take a "lesser" job there is no shame in it, but if it eats up too much time you may forget to aim higher.

After two years there I realized that if I didn't go back to University I would never have a house, never find a good wife, and never be able to raise a family.

So... there is actually another side to the argument :) I've lived both sides.

As for not wanting to go out to visit. Yup. I hear you on that one. I don't know what traffic is like there but in Manila (or even Surabaya) going to meet someone costs real money for taxi fare (or bus fare) and takes a considerable amount of time with a fair amount of discomfort.

Having someone over to your house is way way easier :)
