It is cool to crochet amongst the gen Z crowd, knitting not so much, they even take it as an insult if you call some of them knitters. I am like, get a fucking life! But also great seeing people do things with their hands is always good and getting away from being stuck on a digital screen.

That is funny! I grew up with enough that I know the difference. I don't see why the one would be shunned over the other though. Definitely good for them to be experiencing the real world!
I don't know, but it does to me to appear to be indicative of another problem. There is only one way to do something or believe, and that is the right and only way in their eyes. If you don't agree with it then you are a .... fill in the spaces lol. There seems to be no respect for different opinions anymore. I mean my god I cannot stand quite a few people and opinions but I still respect them. That seems to not be the case anymore.
