I was focusing on upvoting all the people I have as favourites, and it was really a bit of a narrow circle.

I suppose most of us are doing that... What helps me to "broaden" my horizons is taking part in @Ourpick as a curator... As we built a custom curation script that searches quality posts on HIVE, I occasionally bump into some interesting new people...
Participating in Discord events helps with that, and of course, attending IRL HIVE meetups where I met some friends for life... 😃
