Did you send it to ionomy?! How on earth did you lose a couple thousand dollars! I lost quite a bit sending other tokens to the wrong place, I never figured out what I did wrong. It wasn't a couple thousand dollars though! ouch!
I don't know anything about steem being corrupted. I know the founders of Hive thought it was, but I never understood why, I just came along here because everyone I followed did as well. Herd mentality. Now I think this place has its share of corruption, especially in capricious use of downvotes. Somehow I have mostly avoided those.

It was something about “market” or “?” trade. I hit the wrong button. I think someone snatched it up at a deal.
I had enough Steem to convert it to 6,000 USD. (Just powered up all the time). I thought I could figure out the process, which was roundabout, since New York State wouldn’t allow Poloniex (suggested by Steemit) to operate. After losing that chunk, I thought, “Oh well, easy come, easy go.” Figured out my mistake and converted the rest for a trip to Spain. During those years, ’21 and ’22, I was recieving $40 or more for every third post. It was social media heaven.
Then the whales abandoned me. Must have made a few mad:)
