I started work on that analysis. I will be posting it in a few days. I've made some interesting discoveries.
I'm looking at a week worth of data, from May, and the average word count is 399, the median is 248. Average payout $2.05, median payout, $0.48
Keep an eye out for my post, I'll have a LOT more info - my former day job was as a data analyst :D

That was fast! It sounds like a solid start already. Those figures are really interesting, most especially the gap between average and median payouts.
