RE: Roadside Trash. The Disintegration Of Our Decency

The world can be a much better place if people only learned to have respect again. Respect for other people, respect for animals, respect for nature. Without nature we are nothing, we can't even live without, yet we feel that we humans are the best. Seriously? What a joke.

Sorry, I could go on about this all day. I’m genuinely fed up with the indifference and lack of respect people show toward animals and nature. As long as that respect is missing and people remain so apathetic, they have no business patting themselves on the back or thinking they’re somehow exceptional. Humanity still has a lot to learn—and oddly enough, it feels like we’re slipping backwards. Twenty years ago, everything seemed cleaner... were our values really that different back then?

Well, after thinking about this, I had to look it up, and yes! Research confirms that in the Netherlands, there has indeed been a shift. Social norms and values have changed, and not always for the better. More individualism, less community spirit, and a growing disconnect from nature. It’s no wonder things feel off.
