I've never seen Lake McConaughy yet myself, but have made the same drive you are making so many times. Lewis and Clark Monument is only a few mile drive from I-80, overlooking the Missouri River Valley and downtown Omaha.

I'm pretty sure it was raining when we came through Omaha, but maybe next time we will have to make a detour and check it out!
