Where we live we have a rainy and dry season, so a lot depends on where you live. Like we have much less sun in rainy season, so I get fewer eggs. Mites were a big problem previously too, but I sprayed and they all went away. I was shocked. I found some spray at an amazon returns store near us, so I'm not even sure what it was. Mites are terrible.

I'm glad you wrote me that, I've read about mites before, they're supposed to be really gross. Ok, so egg laying also depends on the hours of sunshine, I didn't realise that either. There also seem to be chickens that lay in winter, or is that due to the housing? I'm sure it's much warmer in Panama than here in Germany. Do your chickens sleep outside?
