Falling behind

(edited)

Don't forget to look back

at where you have been and where you spent your money.

I have been practicing a daily weekly monthly receipt tracking methodology that I developed over the past few years.. the problem today is that I have left it incomplete too long. I have found that if I keep up with the process every 3 days at least, then it is manageable.

A week here is 5 days, because that is what fits on a page, makes a week in my system. Sometimes the last week has a 6th day. When I have left my expense reciepts sit un-enveloped for a week or more, it takes hours to finish the task, one that can be done daily in a few minutes.

Now I am over a month behind!

I have been so busy, so these may be excuses, but at least all of my recipts have been sorted for the most part. I have at least 2 final weeks of September weeks to index then record first. When I do I will have a total for September, and can begin on Week 1 of October.

If I can complete at least 3 weeks of October receipts, after completing September, I will feel caught up. The time is 1:08pm MST, and I will check back when I finish this task.

Catching up now..

How will I spend the next two hours? Keeping myself on task..

2:20 - Post
2:45 - start
3:15 - How much done?
3:45 - week 5 done.
4:00 - indexing and totalling week 6
4:40 - finishing Sept 2026
4:00 - starting October 2026 week 1
5:58 - I started week 2 and am nearly finished.

I seem to have done pretty well.

Now I need to step away and
attend to some other to-do's, at 5pm.

Will I earn any profit this year when I spend so much each week?
I am doing better than I used to be, but one expensive week hits hard.

Ok lets go! To the other room.

Leaving things for more than three days always makes admin work feel ten times worse for me. Good luck getting through that mountain of September receipts.
