There was lots of HIVE/HBD price action just the other day. While the whole crypto market took a dive, HBD went as high as $1.5 valued by Coingecko. Also on HIVE internal market, you could have done some pretty good HIVE buys if you happened to be on time.
I had just 2 HBD liquid and obviously took the opportunity and bought some HIVE.
With 2.124 HBD I got 7.435 HIVE while before the HBD surge, I paid 2.005 HBD and got 4.938 HIVE.
This means that ~1 HBD was traded to 3.5 HIVE while earlier when HBD was closer to its peg, it gave 2.46 HIVE. Would have been great to have been holding more liquid HBD!
I keep telling myself to always hold some liquid HIVE and HBD for cases like these but as you might know, it's not exactly the easiest thing to do. So many temptations out there.
Nevertheless, I'm happy with the HIVE I got and since the month is coming to end I remembered #hpud and decided to take part by powering up.
By the way, if you are not familiar with the concept I'd suggest checking out this post. Now, let's take a closer look at my plans.
This time I only powered up the minimum amount of 10 HIVE. The main reason for this is my plan to also take part in #hpum as in Hive Power Up Month. I did try it in December but failed in the middle of the month.
So, I'm leaving some HIVE in liquid to make daily 1 HIVE power-ups in the case of writer's block or if I want to make a post with 50/50 HIVE/HBD rewards.
I've jumped into many layer 2 projects and especially blockchain games on the Hive ecosystem. Even though most of them require some sort of an initial investment, I've kept my main focus on growing my account on the base layer.
My long-term plan is to get the initial funding and possible profits out of these projects and send it back to be powered up in HP or transfer to HBD savings.
One good way to get tokens of a desired project is to delegate HP. I actually got a bit carried away with this and even though the rewards are good, I hate to see my Hive voting power so low.
Therefore I decided to take a break from my delegation spree and focus on getting my HP back up. That being said, I won't be undelegating but instead, try to work harder to get my HP above the amount I have delegated. Hive Power Up Month will work as a "motivator" to achieve this since the post rewards are set to 100% HP.
When it comes to HPUM, I really believe I can do it this time. Today I've read posts by other hivians who have just done it and that's quite encouraging. Also, even though I've promised myself to post on daily basis I've sometimes given to laziness - HPUM will help me stay on course and focused.
Until next time, thank you for reading!

I miss this HBD pump, all of it was locked on savings by the time the pump happened. I think it's a good strategy to put some focus on some layer 2 projects with the goal of earning passive Hive rewards that you can use to grow your Hive/HBD stake ;)
Yeah, I wish I would've held more liquid HBD(well, of course...😅) but now I'll force myself to keep a certain amount of both HBD/HIVE ready for cases like this. There have been these sudden HIVE pumps in the past also.
I will now try to stay focused on this plan. Some of them are obviously high risk, high reward and/or long term but once I don't get greedy and manage to get the initials back to HIVE/HBD it should be good passive income.
There's another good strategy lol. That way you will be able to capitalize on the opportunity when it happens. They're indeed becoming frequent.
I think greed is the key word there. I realize that there are many great projects on Hive's layer 2 projects but I can't focus on many of them. I'll just pick a few and go all in on them. Some are already established projects and a few are up and coming. I think that plan would work out well if we stick to it ;)
