I have also taken the prime membership more for shopping reasons because I do a lot of it from amazon and it saves me a good amount of money on the delivery charges. Where the OTT platform is concerned I have not been using it much, but yes with ads it surely will be a nuisance.
This is what happens with most of these kind of things, first they lure with the best offers and ways and when you get used to it then the real stroke comes

We share the similar thought about Amazon price. You're right that these days companies first try to bring the customer and offer a lot in the beginning but later they start doing real business and try to make more money through all possible ways..
