Well I didn't pay in my entire life for even that filmy branded plastic bag.
Hmm our country only has 4.5-5.6% of trees. If we start cutting them down for paper bags then that 4% will become 0.4%. We need to follow Japan scheme where grow different trees. I think Cotton bags are good like they can be reuse & recycle easily. In south India, people are doing this like they buy 2-3 cotton bags and used them for like 3-6 years. They can easily be recycled.
Your article reminded me of one thing, previously Islamabad authorities have restricted every shopkeeper to not give plastic bag. Some shopkeepers give things in hand 😅, some sold paper & third class cotton bags at triple price. I think our government should teach public to use Tote bag. Tots bag can run for years/ mad up of cotton and can easily recycled.
