Manual curation is the best approach, but it does take quite a lot of time and effort.
My current strategy is to follow some quality content creators, then take some time each day to check my feed and upvote their posts.

That's a great strategy indeed.
For me, reading 10 complete posts a day to upvote (that's how many 100% upvotes you have from 100% > 80% I thought) indeed takes too much time.
I usually try to pick one or two from my feed to read and then also try to leave a useful comment.
